Homegrown Episode 24 – DJ G

This month’s edition of Homegrown I am honored to introduce DJ G.  While he is certainly not an up and coming artist you may have not heard of him for he hails from sunny England.  DJ G has a podcast called ‘Off the Cuff’.  If you have not listened in, I highly recommend doing so for some proper House appreciation.  Here are some interesting facts about DJ G written below.

DJ G has played at both small and large venues with audiences of all ages. He provides music for funerals right through to raising money for various charities. One of which was a children’s charity where he played for 24 hours in 2003. In 2006 he played at both the Reading and Oxford Carnivals with crowds of over 55,000 people.

DJ G is also on air with ‘The Urban Gospel Experience’ on Sunday nights from 7 pm, if you want to hear more tune in to 95.2 FM or online www.bbc.co.uk/oxford Also, DJ G recently did JAM FOR JAPAN, HELPING HAND FOR NEW ZEALAND 24 Hours Nonstop DJ set.

Who is DJ G?

He is a DJ in the UK who is passionate about gospel music in all its styles. He believes that gospel music is more than just for the Church but for all the people to hear. DJ G is now embarking on doing assemblies in schools and taking the message in the music to get his point across to the audience. DJ G teaches DJ Skills at a variety of schools around Oxfordshire and Berkshire to a range of age groups and children with disabilities.

Josiah Freebourne is one of the most sought after Chrisitan DJ’s as he has had the honor of playing many concerts, conferences, and music festivals across the United States. Some events of note include the Ichthus Music Festival, Heavenfest, Youth Quest (Atlanta), Cornerstone Music Festival , and Lifelight. He has been a resident DJ for Project Purpose on Power WLOU in Louisville, KY. and now hosts a show called Holy Vibes on God Radio based in Greece. Josiah has been very involved in helping develop the Christian Electronic Dance Music scene by writing articles and reviews for Tastyfresh.com, the longest running Christian Electronic Dance Music website and having mixes featured on God’s DJ’s internet radio station. He has also produced events featuring Christian DJ’s with a focus on making an impact in the lives of youth and the community. Josiah Freebourne uses a unique combination of music, art, and ministry that allows people to experience the love of Jesus Christ.
