Hello folks! I’ve been meaning to get into producing for some time now, but I haven’t got any finantial resources for that atm(being a student in a foreign country), but I came across audiotool.com, which allows people like me to get better acquainted with the world of electronic music production. It’s no professional DAW, but it really has a lot of features, considering it is web-based(app is launched and works entirely in the browser), and free, as well as legal. There are even some loops and samples, courtesy of Loop Masters, which I find it’s pretty cool for a project like this. Anyway, here is the my first track, using this “program”, and I was hoping to get at least some little feedback. The genre, I would say, is strongly influenced by dance music from the middle 2000′s, but I’m no expert.

BTW, the vocals were acquired from archive.org, under Creative Commons License and made available by Simon Peterson aka (Dr.) Siminz. He produced christian EDM till 2005, as far as I know, and at that time, he was a great inspiration to me.

He made available his tracks on archive.org and also put his email adress there, I think. I sent him an email and he said he stopped producing music and stuff to raise his daughter and take better care of his family, in general. I actually made this track as a tribute to all his work he did back then, ’cause as I said, he really made me believe in making a difference through music. I also sent him this track I did. Not sure if he got it, or if he listened to it, though. Anyways…
God bless!

Nice track for your first finished one. While i find the percs a bit simplistic, the track in itself is quite beautiful. Just keep producing and ask God to lead you in making music.

I appreciate the comment, Barachem. I understand what you mean and you’re right. I will work on it. God bless!

Definitely not bad for a first try. As with anything, it will get better as you do it more and more. The most annoying thing to me was the bass drum – it really didn’t have the punch I was hoping for, at least at the beginning. It was better towards the end. That might just be the sample that was available to you through the software. Also, the side to side with the synth at the end was a little distracting for me. Good idea, but I would have saved it for after the drop; maybe as the song is slowing down. Or at least make the effect more subtle. For freeware, though, definitely a great job.

I really appreciate the constructive criticism and the encouragement. I confess I didn’t invest that much time in the bass drum. I guess I underestimated it. That’s a good tip with the panning of the synth. I felt like it lost some power by doing that, but I couldn’t think of an alternative, at that time.
Thanks again! I got another track in the making..more trancy, but I think I won’t be able to deliver it for a couple of months. I simply have a lot to deal with in college at the moment.
God bless
