My drop of the month happened as I was playing my weekly radio show a couple of weeks ago. I have been experimenting with mixing funky-breaks and disco-house. I played Melodik Hypnotic by Elite Force between a white label remix of Dark-Beat by Oscar-G and Blow Your Mind by DJ Irene. I was taken back by the mix when I burned the mix to CD and listened to it in the gym because it actually sounded like a remix, rather than two separate tracks when it dropped in. I think these two styles make a great combination when done right. If you spin, try merging various styles sometimes just to keep the vibe fresh for yourself. It may sound like bunk, or it may just turn out to be the next big craze and you will be on the cutting edge of a new dance style. Until next time, DJ Dvyne, Lifted Radio. |
