It’s April 2008 and we’re starting to count down the days until the next Cornerstone Music Festival (www.cornerstonefestival.com ). This month, we have the Afterhours EDM stage (www.tastyfresh.com/afterhours ) festival opener Deeflash. We also have New Zealander Tim Richards who’s music can be seen at the top of the tech house charts and is supported by Sasha, Pete Tong and many, many others. Chris Reiche (AKA deeflash) has been DJing for 3 years now. Never content with doing the same thing twice, he is always looking to make his sets more engaging and exciting. Chris started DJing in his studio just to make mixes for friends. As he grew more confident with his abilities, he started to look for opportunities to DJ for crowds. Starting with just a laptop and a few pieces of equipment, he began DJing for his church's youth group. This then led him into DJ-led worship, private parties, a national youth conference, a secure spot as the Thursday night DJ at a young adult service/café and performing at concerts hosted at various venues. Depending on the atmosphere, he plays anything from hip-hop to rock to progressive house and everything in between.

In the summer of 2007, Chris was given the opportunity to DJ alongside nationally recognized DJs at Cornerstone in Bushnell, IL on Tastyfresh’s Generator Sound Stage. When Chris is not in front of a crowd, he is in the studio producing beats and remixing songs for bands, including the indie rock band, The Comeback Tour. With his main focus on being led by the spirit, Chris is well known for his ability to create atmospheres and work with crowds. His vision is to bring the message of Christ through music and close relationships with everyone he meets along the way. His passion is for reaching the lost through music.

Hour 2: Tim Richards (www.myspace.com/timrichardsmusic )

In 2007 Tim Richards was voted best producer at the Auckland Nitelife awards. It was another step recognizing the international success of the local lad who grew up in Mangere Bridge. Tim’s tunes have been played by the best, Dj’s like Sasha (voted number 1 DJ in the world in 2000, and in the top 10 ever since) Simon Dunmore(Defected), King Unique(Curfew), Tony Humphries(New York), Nic Fanciulli(Saved), Stacy Kidd(Chicago), Magik Johnson(NRK) and Pete Tong (BBC Radio 1) and more!

Tim has played locally and internationally, London, San Fran, Dublin and all the Aussie hotspots, he’s familiar with most NZ clubs and recently finishing up the Corona George FM Summer Tour. Then there’s the radio show, ‘Signature Sounds’ 2 – 4, Thursday afternoons on the now nationwide George FM (worldwide on the internet).

Tim’s had releases on international labels Blockhead, Curfew, Grooved, Queep & Black Vinyl and remixes on Om, Queep and Defected. It’s a lot to take in, but Tim’s focused on keeping the tunes coming, he’s looking to innovate and to keep ahead of the pack. If you want to see the future, keep your eyes, and ears, on this man.
