The Vitals:Label: Plastic City Factor Scores:Production Quality: 8.5 Hyatt’s Take:Spark & Fire is another solid release from Stryke. You'll find some melodic content reminiscent of early Detroit techno artists, as well as some modern drums and percussion pushing the edges of tech house. The title track has a bouncy, tight minimal groove. The release is loaded with atmospheric pads, crisp drums, and some appregiated elements that you might hear from an 80's Roland synth. I felt the production of the release was nicely done and mixed well, and the arrangements will work for house and techno DJs alike. Spark & Fire has music in it that can build atmosphere well at a club or an event early in the night and is comprised of what I would call crossover tracks that can really bring the environment into a deeper phase of the night. The EP brings a solid vibe and will appeal to many cross-genre supporters, especially the tech house and progressive house fans out there. I would definitely give this release a listen. |
