The VitalsLabel: YoYo Records Factor Scores:Production Quality: 8.0 Dunamis' Take:Time Lock (aka Felix Nagorsky) brings another high-energy psy-trance release. DJs and fans of psy-trance definitely need to take a listen to this release. Prototype 0.1 contains thick melodic basslines, full-on psy-trance, with house and electro influences, all wrapped in an energetic and unique Time Lock style. Some of my favorite tracks are "Time Theory", "Rocketman", "Punchline", and "Un:Balanced". "Time Theory" is a good track overall and started the album off well. "Rocketman" is just a great song. I liked everything from the crazed vox to the distorted guitar riffs and heavy bass. It's definitely a banging track for all out intros or peaks. "Punchline" has a great groove, edgy acid bass, and cool hooks. "Un:Balanced" is a nice fusion of deep, electro house and psy. Very groovy. Also the album includes a new remix of the immortal Oforia hit "Return of the Machines", with additional collaborations with Quantum and Basic. The only bad thing that gave it a lower score was that I felt that some areas of the release sounded monotonous. Some of the songs sounded like they used similar synths either by manipulation or tweaking. Some of the effects sounded that way, too. It's still a great release overall, full of good energy that will keep you dancing on and on. Definitely a psy-trance release to check out and get. |
