fRew & Shopliftas released Bermuda Nights, a 3-track EP from Vacation Records. For the sake of this review, however, I am reviewing only the remix done by Mark Webb. Mark is a long-time Tastyfresher ("the marksman"), who previously released work under another alias on a Christian dance label.

Mark had a great year in 2007 as he released tracks on numerous labels including: Juicy, Voodoo Vinyl, Vacation, and Gung Ho! His remix of "Lemondrops" by Jimmy Chronic was picked up on a Ministry of Sound compilation and also on an Ibiza summer CD set. Mark is set for a full slate of releases in 2008, including more tracks to come on Gung Ho!

This remix by Mark Webb features tons of fun Island elements with ultra-cool male and female vocal stabs that really put the track in high gear. You know you have obtained a very unique track when the first breakdown hits with all the sounds of "de islands". There is a banging looped trumpet sample that moves in before and after the main breakdown. It keeps serious interest in the track and fits the overall vibe that this track emulates.

Mark’s remix is my favorite of the 3 mixes of this track, and I would say that even if he wasn’t a Tastyfresher. This remix is fun, danceable, and really uplifting in a genre that so many times becomes compacted with the same old formula of aggression and negative-based lyrics. This track has none of that and will remain in my stash for quite a while. Well done, Mark!
