The VitalsLabel: Jeepers Factor Scores:Production Quality: 8.0 Doug’s Take:Martin Sharp takes the old Kansas classic and spins it anew with two great versions for you to choose from. Both have varying amounts of the sample thrown into the track, so DJs and listeners alike have the option of more or less. I was super excited when this promo was given to me and still excited to be writing this review today. Mr. Sharp has produced before for the Jeepers label with great success and even scored a #1 hit on the electro charts on Ministry of Sound. This track is a beautiful representation of wonderfully written electro. It has a vocal that is dripping with sing-alongness and a grungy effect all over the track that will make heads bob. No doubt this will be an EP that can be used at numerous locations where it is important to massage a crowd into EDM. By taking a top rock song from the '70s, Martin Sharp has crossed the barrier that electro has so much with its lack of great melodies and vocal hooks. This EP will not be leaving my crate anytime soon. I think this has playability for years and in many venues. I highly recommend this fun, hand-clapping, foot-stomping track to DJs and listeners who enjoy fun music. |
