Digital Aura's Take:

Dan Auxiliary and John Dubbs are "Shopliftas". Their latest collaboration is "a disco break'n, hammock shakin' rain dance that they like to call Freak Out." This release features the original track plus three remixes; however, the promo that I received for this review contained only the original and a remix by Frew, also signed by the Sydney label, Vacation Records.

Both of the tracks are sure to please listeners with a hankering for some Electro House. This duo has had considerable attention from some high profile names like Plump DJs, Slyde, General Midi, and Lisa Lashes. Indeed, the fact is that the Bass Kleph remix of this track held the #1 position on DJdownload (www.djdownload.com) for six weeks solid and is about to appear on Ministry of Sound UK compilation "Housexy".

Both tracks have a significant house flavour to them. The original mix is electro breakbeat, while the FREW remix is more of a dirty disco on the dance floor project. The only fault I found with both tracks was a tendency to rely too heavily on the vocal component... which typically isn't a problem for me except in this case: It's only two words. Overall, though, it doesn't hamper the song in any way, and I found both tracks equally enjoyable.

I recommend checking out this contagiously catchy track ASAP!
