The Vitals:Label: Deeplife Records Factor Scores:Production Quality: 8.5 Chris’ Take:When I first heard that Aussie breaks producers, Reborn, were working on a 30-minute track, I honestly thought "Wow, this could go either way: really good or really boring." I was hoping for something epic and amazing. I've heard their stuff countless times, so I know what they are capable of. I am happy to say that I was pleasantly pleased with the outcome! The track is called "7Days & 7 Nights", and it plays out more like a mixset than just one track. I suppose this is what a live concert performance from Reborn would sound like. So, what does it sound like? If I were to give you a turn-by-turn play of this track, documenting every change that takes place, this review would be very long. I can tell you this: the guys do a nice job bringing us a wide array of drum beats, tweaking sythns, bubbling basslines, lush pads, sci-fi inspired samples, orchestral arrangements, and a plethora of creative ideas. This is not a track you would just put on as background noise. That would be an injustice to the brilliant creativity here. This is the kind of thing you need to experience. Either pump it loud on a very nice stereo and destroy your carpet, or put on some headphones and sit down so you can close out everything else and take it all in. Both are fine options. The journey is so fantastic that you literally loose track of time and the track has ended long before you wanted it to. This is the reason that God invented synthesizers and drum machines. (Well, OK, I know that man technically invented them, but God gave us the knowledge and inspiration.) I know I am just typing mere words that seem to come across like this is the best thing to happen to dance music ever. Honestly, I am taken back to the very early days of when I was turned on to techno music. It's that good. Kudos, Reborn. |
