Today, September 26, 2007, Cherie was called home. She and Carl both had come to a peace about this before she passed on. Carl stopped by Tasty for just long enough today to post this:
"First off thank you all for all your support and prayer, after 7 years of Battling with Ewing Sarcoma (Bone Cancer) Cherie was taken home by our Lord. She fought so hard in these last couple of days and it took a massive amount of drugs to keep her calm and sedated. In the end she went so peacefully and left with a tear for us to show the love that she was leaving behind and how hard it was for her to do. She was an inspiration to so many and touched so many lives including mine, she was so loved and always will be. She was an amazing individual and I will miss Her so bad. thank you all that prayed for healing She is 100% healed now with a new body and strength. God Bless."
God may not have healed Cherie's earthly body. That doesn't mean that He didn't love her. Nor does it mean that He could not have healed her. Why He chose not to heal her is anyone's guess. I'm sure Cherie knows why now. Carl may not know for some time. It personally took me over twenty years to realize why my sister had been taken from me when I was only five months old in a freak car accident. I understand why now and I see how it was "better" in the grand scheme of things as a memorial was set up in her name at our church and was used later to help fund the growth of it.
There is one thing that Carl said that is so true. Today, Cherie is enjoying a new body. One that is free from not just the medical problems that tormented her here on Earth, but free from the sinful desires that imprison's us. Today, she is with our Father in Heaven. She has realized our hope and seen the fulfillment of God's promise to us for eternal life.
Carl, as a community, our hearts go out to you. If you need anything, just let us know.
