Digital Aura is Greg Primmer. He was born, raised and currently resides in Petrolia...a small, sleepy, rural town in Southern Ontario, Canada. Greg’s musical influences vary widely from 80's rock to dance to opera. He is a big fan of U2, Paul van Dyk, Seal, David Meece, Neil Young, PPK, Delirious, The Echoing Green, and The Violet Burning to name a few. As a young boy, Greg took an avid interest in music and began studying classical and contemporary piano. His first hardware synthesizer—a Korg Trinity—was purchased in 1997 and opened his eyes to the realm of digital composition. He was fascinated by the potential in MIDI technology. However, it was not until late 2003 that Greg finally integrated his hardware with software-based audio workstations to produce full works. While deeply rooted in music since his childhood, Greg is a relative newcomer to electronic music production, having never been exposed to Trance/Dance music until 2003. It wasn't long though until his new-found love began to yield his very first original dance tracks. But an artist needs a name. Something to grab your attention. Something snappy and with pizzazz. Something… randomly generated? Yes, the randomly generated username that Greg had been using for online gaming for nearly eight years became his moniker, and dance artist Digital Aura was born. Ironically, this random name conveys the premise that his music is the hybrid of "electronic sound" with Christian faith and "spirituality", which in fact it is. As Greg’s favourite music is Uplifting Trance and Euro Dance, so too does his own music reflect this. These genres feature prominently in his debut self-titled CD, which was released in the Fall of 2007. However, the album still contains an eclectic mix of electronic genres as he continues to foray into the vast realms of electronica by creating ambient, progressive, uplifting, dream, and house genre music. Greg proved his skills not only at producing original tracks, but he also has found great success remixing the music of others. His "Morning Drive Mix" won him a spot on The Echoing Green's upcoming maxi-single for their song "Suffer", which is due out in 2008. Willing to cross genre boundaries, Digital Aura also produced a remix for Swedish heavy metal band Jet Circus for their upcoming album Dance or Die!. The band was impressed enough with his remix of their song "Shooting Star" that Jet Circus frontman, Ez Gomer, approached Greg about remixing a second and then a third song: "Lizzard Love" and "Look At Death Now". The Jet Circus dance compilation album is slated for a release in October 2007. As one of his next undertakings, Greg is working to implement a performance aspect to his work, enabling Digital Aura to leave the confines of his studio and perform live events. Web sites:
