The Vitals:Label: Hospital Records Factor Scores:Production Quality: 7.8 Dunamis' Take:Very good release, another good solid release here. It's just about as good as the Logistics release I heard recently. There's some good stuff coming out of Hospital Records. This release is a good mix of vocals, soulful ambiences, and tight beats and would be a very nice addition to anyone's liquid funk collection. Back of Beyond starts out with one of my favorites: the strong track, "Beliefs”. "System" is another nice vocal track. I also like "Take Me Back" and noticed it was on the top-100 drum n bass chart on Beatport.com, which is nice also. Other favorite tracks for me were "Say Hello, Wave Goodbye" and "Never Together," which features another good drum n bass artist, Logistics. I enjoyed the whole album. There was solid production all the way through. I liked the tight beats and basses, good use of jazz influences, and nice use of vocals. Some tracks could of used more pizzazz and less monotonous. It's a great atmospheres and a really nice listen to just kick back or throw in your next drum n bass set. It was a pleasure to review this. Definitely pick up this release if you're in the need for some liquid drum n bass. MySpace Page: http://www.myspace.com/djnutone |
