The Vitals:Label: Powerplant Music Factor Scores:Production Quality: 7.4 Chris' Take:This is a release from Powerplant's label owner, John Morgan. It is a very solid and well-produced release and includes a remix from Harold Heath. Production Quality: 7.4The production quality of both tracks is very clean and well laid out. All of the instruments and sounds mesh together well and keep from crowding each other out of the mix. Programming & Arrangement: 7.6Both tracks are DJ friendly but interesting enough to listen to on their own. Unlike other tribal house tracks, there are enough build-ups and changes to keep those who might not normally listen to tribal house interested and excited. Entertainment Quality: 8.0Both tracks are very fun to listen to and have a groove that is danceable. Morgan's track has a funky bass line that just keeps the track moving, and Heath's track has a bassline change in the middle of the track that builds up the energy of the track. Summary:I found both tracks very enjoyable to review, and they both have separate qualities that make them valuable to have in your DJ crate. The John Morgan track takes a tribal house groove and just runs with it, adding synths and arps on top and building the track up and tearing it down and then bringing it back up again. Heath's track is leans more towards a tech house feel but also keeps the same groove and makes for a fun track. |
