Once again I found myself surrounded by blazing lights, pulsating beats, and a super-hyper atmosphere known as the Dance Barn. Only this time it was not my hands carefully crafting the ambiance of the room. I was not a performer; I was an attendee. ![]() Adam Sean rocking the barn It was rather odd to be on the outside of things. Without the worries of trouble-shooting, DMX cut outs, or any other sort of glitch, I found myself, for once, truly able to get lost inside the music. And during the present time where Screamo had over-taken Cornerstone, the Dance Barn and the TF Generator stage quickly became my sanctuaries. I wonder what it was like for everyone else at Cornerstone. Walking along one of the main roads littered with generator stages all in close proximity: screamo, more screamo, death metal, screamo again, hard rock, some kids *trying* to do screamo, and then a sudden sound of synthesizers and a soul pumping beat (a beat, imagine that!). A quick glance towards the sound and they saw a sight of soft, colorful bubbles filling the area. Dare I say for a moment's time it was a magical scene. Back to reality, the DJs threw down! Jeremy's pimped out DJ booth, which was his van with the top cut off and decks built in, was wicked awesome. You could tell he spent a lot of time on that generator stage, and he did a rockin’ job at it. Deeflash and Glow rocked my world by playing vocal trance/techno. Unfortunately, I didn't get to hear many other generator DJs. ![]() BTU chills outside the barn The late nights at the dance barn seemed to draw a rather amusing crowd. From the ravers, to punk rockers, to dancing bananas and robots, the barn was always filled with fun and entertaining energy. It was pretty fun to be on the outside looking in. Getting to watch and take in everything that was going on, rather than worry about what WAS going on. This year's plague was blackouts and a blown out subwoofer. It was cool to not be the one freakin’ out about such things. Sorry for those of you who did! A big thanks once again to Jeremy and Deeflash and the awesome chilli you guys made. Sorry for Club Worship's water battle. Yea, for awesome people who let me dance up on the speakers, and yea for partying like a rock star! |
