Next on the “what’s new” list is dj404, Brian Scroggins and Cherie (Carl of Reborn’s wife). All three are still struggling with cancer, but all three have seen some significant positive changes. Chris’ tongue surgery went well and he apparently is on the road to recovery. According to the doctors, he should actually be done with cancer and he will definitely make Cornerstone this year as planned. Brain has been told that he may be able to go back to work soon, so that is awesome news. Lastly, Cherie surgery also went well. God is definitely at work in our community answering our prayers. Please check out the Prayer and Praise board in the Forums to keep up with these three. Also, don’t forget that we are taking donations for both Brian and Chris. You can find that link on any of the pages outside of the forums. Thanks for supporting these three. As of right now, the monthly podcast that we do with BTU Live has had more than 7,200 downloads. The latest episode features former Radio U Electric Circus DJ Matthew Risher and Ruhnsong Records own Joel Armstrong. Episode 6 will feature 3kStatic and I believe Quillroader. That will take us through Cornerstone, which is the last week of June.
Well, that’s all I really have for news and announcements this time. As usual, we’ve got some great articles. We’re continuing our introductory look at sampling with DJ Dual Core. Jeremy Kadinger fills us in about the Tastyfresh Sound System at Cornerstone. Scott’s back with another article. This time he’s tackling life and how to live it to the full. Oneel also returns with an inspiring look at Andrew Carnegie’s life and what he has to do with making it in the dance scene. We also welcome a new writer to TF, Michael Joseph who takes a hard look at the Gospel Music Awards and wonders: where are the DJs? One last note, I am working on the next article for the Unity series. I had hoped to have it done for this issue, but as I pointed out earlier… I was too busy to get it done. This is important, so I’ll try to have it done for the next issue. The good news is that it will be right after Cornerstone where many of us will experience the type of unity I’ve been discussing. Until next time, |

Well… it’s been a busy two months over here. So busy that in case you hadn’t noticed, I’m almost two weeks late getting this issue of the zine out to you. For that, I apologize. A large amount of the delay was definitely caused by me having to deal with some of the logistical needs of Cornerstone this year. One of the things we are doing in addition to just booking the talent is setting up a secondary generator stage. Beyond that, I’ve been working on rebranding the venue and working with the Flickerings group who uses the Barn as an ultra-cool movie house during the day to create a new sign and group of logos for our events. Now that all of that is out of the way, I just need to place some phone calls and emails and the event will be all set. Thanks for being patient with me.
Speaking of Cornerstone, if you have not yet decided to go, what’s holding you back? This year will be a year like no other. We’re bringing in some big guns including: Kenneth Thomas, Greg “Stryke” Chin, and Joel Armstrong and more for “After Hours” at the Barn, but we’re also bringing in some top notch talent for our satellite stage “The Tastyfresh Sound Sytem” during the day. The talent there will include 3kStatic, Jeremy Kadinger, Dave Richards (hey, that’s me!), Dee Flash and more. Oh yeah… the BTU crew will be CRAWLING over both stages, so expect to here the good from the boyz of the south too.
I believe we will all be officially camping outside of the Barn and we are currently seeking people who would be willing to help out at the festival as part of a street team to promote the stages. For the latest information on the EDM stages at Cornerstone this year, check out the
