Bio by Drew Lyddon. Used by permission.Drew Lyddon is an electronic dance music producer from London, England. Growing up in the suburbs with his family, he was encouraged from an early age to take up musical instrument lessons. First trying out the trumpet (out of which he couldn't make anything other than the sound of an elephant), he moved on to the tenor, and then the French horn. Piano lessons were next in line, and this is where Drew first started to improvise and make up chords–especially minor sevenths! Drew's love of dance music stems from a family holiday where he stumbled across the BBC Radio 1 show presented by Judge Jules on his walkman. From then on, all his father would hear in the car were the incessant hisses of hi-hats and snares! Years passed, seasons came, went, and came again, and Drew was still interested in dance music. When he was 14, his sister bought him a copy of a computer magazine that included a copy of eJay SE. With just eight tracks to play with, Drew learnt his sequencing on this most basic of systems, producing his first cult hit "Presidential Piano", which was (and still is) a favourite of his friends–even the Pastor's wife! A few years following, the magazine included a copy of eJay SE 2–with 16 tracks of stereo audio and a track mixer plus effects! Drew was lost in listening to music and making it. "I didn't really know what career to follow at that stage, but after I got eJay SE 2, I knew I should do something in sound." He went to uni to study film and TV sound design, which required that he should buy a Digidesign MBox. Finally Drew had all he needed to make music. The first track he made was made entirely using the limited SampleTank softsynth that came with the MBox. He really didn't have a clue but learnt his way through by making music for himself. But three years (and a degree in Broadcasting Sound Design) later, he was starting to make good music, which people liked! Yes, Drew is a Christian–and not ashamed of it! His life with God is constantly inspiring his tracks as he discovers and rediscovers elements of God's multifaceted character. He is currently a member of Coldharbour Evangelical Free Church, plays drums in the worship band, and helps lead the youth groups, too. Web site:
