The Vitals:Label: Deep Life Records Factor Scores:Production Quality: 8.0 Du Nord's Take:I didn't warm up to this one very quickly. I like the music; it's just not the "norm" of what I listen to. Oh well, it's good to expand one's musical horizons. "Peter Pace" seems to be an interesting collective of musicians who make a vibrant and jazzy form of African-flavored House. I liked the guitar work and the vocals (English and otherwise). The music is mid-tempo and very relaxing, just the thing for a drive around town with the windows down on a brilliant Spring day. In fact, the variety is interesting, from flute to vinyl scratching all on the same track. My favorite tracks are "Quest-Ions" and "I Can't Wait (Living Room Mix)". The former features a harder, tighter beat and interesting vocal samples. The latter features a beautiful House vocal elaborating on the whims of love. I did like this release, and I hope the group continues to find success in the marketplace. I do prefer Christian music nowadays and would encourage them to try a Gospel track or two in the future. Many Blessings! |
