The Vitals:Label: Star People Music Factor Scores:Production Quality: 8.0 Gerwin's Take:Van Lazarux brings us a 3-track EP with dance-floor minded tracks. The original mix is a well produced house track with a techno feel. Like the track title is saying, it has a dirty bass that drives the track. It would probably sound huge on a large soundsystem. The track is very energetic and completely built around the bass with good builds and structures. Personally, I would've liked some more melodic/harmonic elements with some variations, but it fits the genre. Overall, it's a good, solid house track. The "Deepkay Project Elektro Dirty Remix" adds some typical electro elements. Again, the track is well produced, but the remix isn't interesting enough compared to the original. For a remix, I expected more variations and additions. "Etain's Funked-Up Tech Mix" features big and dark percussion giving it a more "tough" sound. It has a fast groove, almost sounding like a train. The bass from the original is used, but some variations are used as well and other bass sounds are added. A filter chord is added to make it more interesting. I think this remix is the best track of the EP. All tracks have good grooves and are very dance-floor friendly, keeping it interesting with good structures and builds without a lot of melodies and sounds. A nice pick for the housey techno lovers. |
