Well, we started this show off with a bang. Episode one pulled in 900 downloads. That’s a lot more than I expected. So in celebration of that, I’m making Episode 2 three hours long and adding a truly shameless plug at the end. You’ll have to indulge me.
So… whose featured this time? Well… It’s not Stryke like I promised. He’s coming, but just not yet. We do have two awesome guest DJs and well… me. So show some love and get your groove on. Air Date:February 2007 Guest Bios:Hour 1: DJ Dima – www.myspace.com/dimadj Even as a young boy just learning drums, Dmitri Vaganov (a.k.a., DJ Dima) knew that the beat was part of what defined him. Shortly after moving to the USA at age 16 from his birthplace in Moscow, Russia, he became heavily involved in the music scene. He was deeply immersed in producing and DJing at local clubs. It was his obsession. This secular lifestyle, however, took a heavy toll on him and after experimenting with drugs, alcohol, and other sinful aspects of the clubbing life; he finally found something else in his life that truly defined him--Jesus Christ.
This turnaround marked the beginning of a new directive in his life and in his music. He is now a man with a beat and a testimony of what God can do with a broken life. DJ Dima is best known for his 4-track EP release on Deep Life Records, "Every Knee & Every Tongue". Hour 2: Nigel Mack – www.myspace.com/vanlazarux Nigel began its career as a DJ in the 2001 at the age of 15, in Panama City, Panama. Since then he has gained respect in the international community as both a DJ and a producer. His started out as a Hard Trance and House DJ, but has since caught the Progressive and Techno bug, which has brought him even more exposure. He was of resident at Deep Room for 6 months and has DJ’ed in the largest club in Central America, NEXT. So far he has shared the decks with international DJs like as Marcello Castelli, Willy Sanjuan, Dj Kenda of Chile, DJ Gabriel Sordo, Aaron Wells, Boris Terrazon, Dj Jako of Colombia, Dr Leo, Melissa O., Felix Del Barco, Nanny Gu of Italy, Marks Pappas, Patrick M., DJ Ebar of Central Park Records, Jerry Bouhan, Rod Carrillo, Eric Prestinary, Robbie Rivera, Willy Morales, Granvil Kincaid of Acid Productions, Oscar G from Space Club Miami, Benny Benassi, and Paul Van Dyk. Currently, he has a weekly Internet radio show called ClubTronika on www.dancelatinoamerica.com
In addition to his work as a DJ, Nigel Mack also works as a producer. He currently has 12 releases out Dub Tech Records, Itzamna Records, Radikal Records, Next Dimention Music, Star People Music and more. You can check out some of his releases at www.beatport.com/van+lazarux Who is Dave Richards? Well… Dave Richards is one of a number of up and coming tribal and tech house influenced progressive house producers. He’s not the king of the charts. He doesn’t want to be. He’s done his best to check his ego at the door. Sure he can say that he’s buds with one of the Shiloh brothers, or that he’s one of the guys Stryke hears about in his phone conversations with his friends, but that doesn’t make Dave Richards the Schnitz. So what does all that mean? It means he’s up and coming, so pay attention. |
