Du Nord's Take:

I like the stuff Om Records puts out, and DJ mixes are a staple for me as I love to hear new tracks and a continuous groove. It makes driving so pleasant for me, you know? I also love the Groove Junkies as they have a great Gospel-infused style and can be counted on to have great song choices in their mix sets.

Disc 1 is the Groove Junkies mix, and it's a great selection of Funky and Disco House in grand style. Standouts in the mix are Mr V and Miss Patty's "Da Bump", Frankie Knuckles' "Disco Shimmy", and Copyright's "He Is"(Ferrer and Sydenham Inc. Vox Mix). I like the Classic mix of "He Is" that I picked up on Beatport, and this track was my introduction.

Chuck Love's mix is on disc 2, and I believe it is the best of the three mixes on this release. Chuck's mix has a little more bounce and low end, and I like that. Stand-out tracks include Collette's "Didn't Mean To Turn You On"(Chuck Love's Mute Force Mix) and Mustafa's great "Sao Salvador"(Olivier Desmet Mix). All in all, my favorite.

Disc 3 by DJ Fluid is probably the most unusual mix and is more techy and progressive than the others. I liked Afro-Mystik's "Miracles"(Fluid Sub Dub) and especially Samantha James' classic "Rise" (Erik Kupper Mix). What an incredible vibe! Some tracks surprised me a little, but it overall is a great quality mix.

Great job, Om Records! Keep ‘em coming!
