| Quillroader - Trance / Progressive / House |
Bio from www.lowroof.nl . Used by permission. It all starts in 2000 with Stefan Pluym and Alfred van de Wege. They meet each other in a small radio station in their hometown Gorinchem. Both of them have a big interest in electronic music, which results in the two of them creating music together. At the time Stefan produces for the Dutch dance-act Dance in Motion. Alfred starts to cooperate. This results in the second album of Dance in Motion, “Can’t stop the dance”. When Dance in Motion is through in June of 2004, Stefan and Alfred feel the need to go on with their producing and take on another level: Quillroader sees the light of day. The style they want to produce is a blend of trance, progressive, and house with a typical Quillroader-sound. This sound is a mixture of contemporary beats, peculiar sounds, and surprising effects. If you enjoy music from Paul van Dyk, Armin van Buuren, and Above & Beyond, you will certainly enjoy the Quillroader-productions. Their remix of “I See Grace” by Noah Desmit receives positive criticism worldwide. It might take some getting used to the Quillroader-sound, but everyone agrees: it’s definitely innovative! They continue to remix tracks by artists such as Noah Desmit, Dr. Siminz, and the Dutch singer Gerald Troost, and they start to produce their own tracks. Late 2004, they start to host their own radio show on the Dutch national radio station Yam FM, which also broadcasts through satellite all over Europe and worldwide Internet broadcasting. In their show called Yamix, they play all their favourite tunes and try the new releases of Quillroader. Future plans consist of writing new material for 2006, and they have set up a live performance in several possible settings: from the simple DJ-set to a complete show with live-band, which will be doing some try-outs in spring 2006! 2006 promises to be a busy year for Quillroader!
