Brian Rogers (a.k.a., Stumblebum) has been into the EDM scene since 1997. Trance and House are some of the first genres of EDM that caught his ear and fell in love with the music. Wasnt until later, hearing tracks with trancey synth lines and deep gritty basslines from artists like John B, Concord and Dawn really caught his ear to drum n bass, he was immediately hooked. Some artists today that influence his music writing are Pendulum, Logistics, Evol Intent, The Upbeats, Ben Sage, as well as anything that moves him...from Sigur Ros to Imogen Heap to United to Mute Math. Inspiration for his music comes from things that happen in his life to his personal worship to God, prayers that he is sending up in music form. He quotes, "Most of my decent stuff is actually quite vulnerable if you understand the reason I am writing them." And last but not least is his focus of his music are moving melodies. He wants to write music to want to reach deep inside, hit your soul, then tell your head to start nodding. He says "It is one thing to have a track that moves a dancefloor...a whole different thing to have a track that leaves an imprint on the person." His music is an outlet and worship for him...and he hopes that it is evident when people listen. Web sites: |
