In the last issue, we focused on the concept of local community groups and how those through them we will start to reach beyond the virtual walls of this site and start affecting our local communities. A key ingredient that every one of these groups must have is unity. In fact, our digital community is not going to amount to much if we don’t have unity. Unity is something that Jesus though to be so important that before his arrest, he prayed specifically for the unity of both his disciples and the Christians of today. With this issue, we are starting a 3-5 part series of articles to talk about unity and what exactly that means. The first installment focuses on me apologizing for running my mouth in the forums here and on the definition of unity and of course… there are no pictures. Later we will get into things like a historical overview of unity in the scene as I have observed and this will have several pictures. After that, we will looking into what is and is not unity, how we can achieve it and a few other issues. Unfortunately, you can’t count on a lot of photos. After all, this is a thinking man’s series! Oneel and Mint DJ both sit down and provide us with articles focused on getting you that sweet DJ gig you have been wanting. This is Oneel’s second installment in his DJ Business series. His first focused on finding the right opportunities, people and basically getting your demo in to the right people. This month, he focuses in a bit on how to assemble a professional promo kit. Mint DJ brings us the Drop for this issue. He focuses on making a good lasting impression on the promoters who are seeking to hire you. Both of these are do not miss articles. In the education arena this issue we have two articles. The first is another music basics article by Matt Lokot on basic filter use. It’s short, sweet and so simple anybody could follow it. Oh yeah… there aren’t any pictures… so you know it’s easy to do. We also have an interview with Christopher Wight, one of the founders of the first dance music education programs in the world, Icon Collective. For about $3,700 a semester, you can take classes taught by DJ Rap, DJ Irene and many others who know how to write a choon or two. Lastly, we have a SLEW of reviews. I’m hoping that we’ll have even more on this site after the new tastyfresh.com goes live. The big winners this time are Tresice, DJ Phase and The Source feat. Candi Staton (some classes never really die). And um… I’d like to take a second and plug my new EP. It’s called Liars with Egos and it’s out now on Next Dimension Music under my new alias Dave Richards. Of course I have that reviewed this time around along with several others and no, the review doesn’t have any photos either. Well, that’s it. If you read through this whole thing that means I must not have bored you too much. If you are reading this at all though, that means I remembered to link this page in unlike the last issue! Have a great two months and well see you next time hopefully with all the Cornerstone Dance Club news you could want. Dave R "Could you take my picture? Cuz I won’t remember." |

Well, it’s the night before I launch this issue of the Tastyfresh.com zine. One thing that you may have noticed of late is that there are fewer and fewer photos. I believe there is only one in this issue outside of my mug shot to the left. Never fear… I’m not going all Wall Street Journal on you or even worse. I just honestly have been too lazy to hound authors for photos. It is something I need to work on along with the other 800 things that need to be done to this site… including actually building out that music section properly. What a failure of a link that is! Oh well… all things in God’s great and good timing.
