Brian's Take:

Out come the Data label's new remixes of the Les Rythmes Digitales 1997 classic "Jacques Your Body". Jacques Lu Cont himself (the man behind Les Rythmes Digitales) opens the release with his own solid remake. Other producers on remix duty include Riffs and Rays, Switch, and Full Intention.

Though its differences from the original are subtle, Lu Cont's remake is worthy of attention. Backed with heavy percussion and reinforced vocal editing, it is one of the best remixes found on this single. The Switch remix is a tad scrambled-sounding. However, if I've learned anything in the past few years, it's that that's to be expected of any Switch remix. At the very least it's a fun track. Full Intention lays down a smooth, deephouse remix, leaving the original vocals perfectly subtle. This one's no vehicle for crowd hyping, but it is most definitely a funky ride not worth missing. Finally Riffs and Rays close out the single with their mid-'90's sounding house remix. It's no anthem, but worth a listen.

As mentioned before Switch's remix of the tune was "techy", but a bit overdone. The concept of their remix would've been used well as an original track of theirs, rather than a remix. As is it somewhat butchers the original vocals. Full Intention's contribution was very well done, but their dub version definitely gets a tad dry. Because the vocals are what kept the vocal mix going strong, the dub simply seems to drag on for longer than it needs to, going nowhere.
Good original track + Good remixers = Good remixes. Check this one out!
