Du Nord's Take:I picked up this album because the group has devoted following and I wanted to see what the buzz is about. I like Trance and I wasn’t familiar with Goa so I gave it a spin (literally). Done deal. Went to my car, ripped off the wrapper and popped it into my player. Unfortunately the buzz wore off on tracks two through ten as I heard some good programming but the arrangements left a little to be desired. It devolved into a very Techno sounding mixture of sounds and knob twisting that I began to appreciate less and less as the album wore on. I guess I’m just not a Tech-head and like real song structures and not just endless tricks and noises. It’s not all bad mind you, just not my cup of tea. I won’t be getting any more of their albums anytime soon and spinning them wouldn’t happen either (I think?). I consider my taste in music to be diverse but this just stretches me to the limit. Ah well, live and learn. |
