Interview:

What is the thing you like most about DJing?

The sheer satisfaction of perfectly blending tracks together.

How would you describe your style?

A blend of new and old school club tracks. I vary in specific genres within dance music. I don’t think DJ’s should pigeon hole themselves into one particular style.

How does your faith influence your DJing?

As cheesy as this may sound, I try to (remember to) pray when I am looking for new tracks. I only play tracks that are either instrumental or have lyrics which do not go against what I believe. I typically play stuff that has to do with love, solid relationships, eternity, and faith. I use the “whatsoever” verse as a guideline.

What excites you most about playing Cornerstone this year?

This make my second time to play at Cornerstone and I am extremely blessed for the opportunity. I guess I have a really silly answer to your question: ROAD TRIP. I will be getting to drive from Kansas to Cornerstone and I am really excited about it! As far as actually being at Cornerstone, I am excited about the friends and fellowship that will be there!

Who is the DJ/Artist you look up to the most?

Without a doubt, Scott Blackwell. Scott is a legend and for some reason, he seems to be mostly unknown to all the newbies to the scene. For those who don’t know: Scott came up out of the club scene from the 80’s. He was a top DJ and remixer in NYC! He dedicated his life to the Lord and began a revolution here in America. He is responsible for the very reason we have Christian Dance music.

What is in your current all time top 5 chart?

Man, I have a hard time with charting. I just don’t do it. Maybe it’s bad form, but I don’t. Partly because I don’t have the cash to keep up with new tracks every week. Monthly I try to go out and shop for new tracks. I guess the technical answer is: “ I have no clue” ha ha!
