Afterhours 2008: Update
Written by Dave Richards
Friday, 16 May 2008

It’s May. In less than two months, we’ll be in Bushnell, Il again throwing down at the Cornerstone Music Festival. A lot has happened since last year and a lot has remained the same. Over all we’re in both a stronger and weaker position this year over last. Last year was our first year running the EDM stage at the festival. We’ve been planning the event since several days before we wrapped up the last one. We should have it all together, but figuratively speaking, fate has dealt us another hand and we have had to make some changes to our plans.

Tastyfresh.com Sound System I just wanted to share a few things with you as far as things going on with Tastyfresh.com’s official generator stage. Many of you know and have seen pictures that show the great success the generator stage had in promotion of our main venue at the Cornerstone Music Festival.  We pretty much had music, fellowship, lounging, and overall a thick hanging-out vibe occurring from noon to 7 pm each day of the festival.  Jeremy Kadinger was the ring leader of the generator stage last year and did a phenomenal job.  He set the timeslots, set up and tore down every day and brought a van down as a DJ Booth. Those of us who went to Cornerstone looked at a lot of the things that happened at the generator stage as seed planting.  People were reminded to get their behinds down to the barn for Afterhours each night as they heard thick beats and nice melodies emerging from the speakers at the generator stage.

Afterhours 2008: Lineup

Twenty-five years ago, a group for Christians with a love for music decided to put together a festival dedicated to Christian Rock. Over the course of twenty-five years, that festival has changed locations and expanded to cover everything dealing with Christians and well… creativity. The festival’s name: Cornerstone. The festival’s founders: Jesus People USA. The festival’s location: Bushnell, IL.

As common when something has been around for a quarter century, this year’s Cornerstone Festival will be a huge celebration. We here at Tastyfresh.com are proud to not only be present at this celebration, but to help put it on in our own special way. This year, we’re going to have a truly huge party.

Doug Theodore, Jeremy Kadinger, Kevin Oneel and myself starting planning for the 2008 Afterhours Club stage before we had even gotten out of Bushnell last summer.  After the huge success of last year with Kenneth Thomas, Greg “Stryke” Chin, Joel Armstrong, BTU Productions and all the other DJs, we knew we would be hard pressed to beat it. We also ran into another snag when we found out that there would be a 25th Anniversary program on July 4th which would shut down every stage until midnight.  Despite all of that, I think we might be set up to outdo ourselves this year. So without further delay, I give you the Afterhours 2008 Line-up!

Call for Demos

The Cornerstone Music Festival is coming up fast and we still need to fill a few slots. If you’re a Christian who would like to spin at this year’s Afterhours stage, now is the time to send us your demo. We’ve made it easy for you too, just upload your demo package to the server of your choice and complete our application. Demos will be accepted between now and February 29th.

The Afterhours headliners will be announced on the February podcast and the full line-up will be in the March/April issue of the Tastyfresh magazine.  If you are selected, you will be notified before March 15th. All DJs who submit an application and are not selected for Afterhours will be considered for the Tastyfresh Satellite Sound System generator stage.

So… Send us your demo.

UPDATED: DEMO SUBMISSIONS ARE NOW CLOSED

We've gotten in some great demos this year, but we can't take anymore. The line-up will be announced in the next issue of the Zine and on Tastyfresh Presents. Hope to see you at the festival.

AfterHours 2007: On the Flip Side

Once again I found myself surrounded by blazing lights, pulsating beats, and a super-hyper atmosphere known as the Dance Barn. Only this time it was not my hands carefully crafting the ambiance of the room. I was not a performer; I was an attendee.

Cornerstone 2007... ahh the memories.  I really had a great time.  Actually if I try to explain in this journal how good of a time I had I certainly will do injustice to the amount of fun I had.  Overall I would have to give it an A+.

AfterHours 2007: From Adam Sean's Point of View

It feels like only yesterday I was cramped up and smushed into the back seat of a Jeep Liberty, pulling out of the driveway of my good friends' house in Birmingham, Alabama.  We were all jacked up on Mountain Dew and ready for the long trip ahead.  One quick stop at a McDonald's and we were off.

Tastyfresh Sound SystemMany of us are excited for this year’s get together at Cornerstone. I wish that it was all going down right now but I am glad to have a little more time to take care of the details left to be done. This year I will be running a sound system during the day to help promote the Dance Club at night.

Cornerstone 2007 EDM Lineup Announced
Written by David Richardson
Thursday, 22 March 2007

Image Tastyfresh.com and BTU Live are proud to announce the Cornerstone 2007 Dance Club lineup. Building on the success of the Underground’s management and direction during the 2005 and 2006 years, there really was only one way to improve the lineup for this year and that was to grab not only some fan favorites, but to bring in some of the biggest names currently in the EDM scene. If you haven’t attended Cornerstone in a few years, you’ve really missed out, but if you have been and haven’t checked out the Dance Club, you won’t want to miss it this year.

It’s official. Oneel, Fitzpatrick and I will be running the Dance Club at this year’s Cornerstone Music Festival in Bushnell, Il. For the most part, things will go exactly as they have in the past… but hopefully better.  John Herrin, the festival director, has been very open to some changes, as have we.

Cornerstone 2006: Building the Refugee Camp
Written by Heather Kadinger

We drove slowly away trying to find Camp Tastyfresh, and parked.  While we were looking over the field where the big white tent with UG was to see if anyone was there, there is a loud hissing coming out of our front tire.  “Oh no!  It’s going flat!  Well at least it happened here, it could have been anywhere along the road,” Jeremy and I both say to each other.
