This first EP for the Lost Language label is comprised of three tracks. While the first two tracks are definitely progressive, the last one is—refreshingly—something completely different.

This release is a fairly straightforward collection of four mixes of the Leigh Vincent track "Oscar Flamenco." Although these mixes all retain enough common elements to be recognized as the same song, there is surprising variety across the four tracks.

The odd thing here is that the track is not bad at all, yet for some reason, this release does nothing for me. It seems to be a product of a cookie-cutter formula, much like when epic trance was popular. Don't get me wrong. This is a good track; it's just not doing anything for me.

Here it is, the fourth and final release of the Osmotic compilation series from Lowroof/Deepsink Records. Osmotic Fusion is musically a bit harder edged—with mixtures of trance, progressive, and techno—compared to its three predecessors.

This is the second "digital" release to come from Andy Moor's AVA Recordings label. Here we have a tasty double header from two newcomers, Matthias Baumann and Roland Geringer, who produce under the moniker Cressida.

From the simple repetitive bassline to the reggae-tinged vocals and electro elements, the original track is exactly what I would expect of a 1990 rave track. But now, 17 years later, the old track gets some new chrome and contours as it gets worked on by two current breaks artists.

Anjunabeats have been at the forefront of the world of trance for a good few years now and head up the work in the UK and Europe especially. The Anjunabeats series has often been seen as the way marker of trance.

Every track on this release sounds really great. All of the elements blend well together, and there is no clashing. The sounds are very fresh sounding and keep you listening.

I hope both remixers continue to strive for marketability, but I feel it's some distance off, especially for the Masterdata Mix. Better luck next time.
