My laptop and the controller was stolen this weekend. So a lot of my music is gone as well as equipment to mix. God is trying to tell me something, please pray that I hear Him correctly on this one.

typical.

BTW... b4 you jump on the "God doesn't want me to DJ bandwagon" PLEASE remember that it's just stolen gear and it could mean something else. Now... if you buy new gear and IT gets stolen too... I'd start thinking about that possibility Wink

It was for a reason, I just need to understand what was it.

well... don't be surprised if you don't know for 10-20 years. It took over 20 years for me to realize why my sister had to die.

Oh... and seriously... get new gear soon I'll need a mix from you. Wink

Well - Ill be the first one to say it..out loud.. that's )(*!@&# bull@!()*#$.

But I heard you DJ at Cornerstone and stopping DJing prolly isnt what God is telling you.  It's probably something along the lines of "eye for an eye" and "find out who did it and exact justice".  That's where I'd start anyways.

Really sorry bro.

"The rain falls on the just and the unjust" - not everything has some mystical meaning behind it

Pray for the one who stole from you as they need serious help if they are stealing at church.

Man I was gonna say this exact thing. I've had loads of stuff stolen over the yeras. I can pretty much promise that 99% of the times God had nothing for me to learn from it other than to learn to forgive those who do you wrong. Seriously, It could just be that someone was greedy and took your stuff. It sucks, but that's the likely reality. I hope you can replace it soon. Perhaps the church has theft protection?

Thanks for your encouragement. I just think God knows it's important to me, so there must be a reason he allowed it. But He was gracious to let me record a mix that afternoon before it was stolen. So I have something to give to you, Dave. It actually came out perfect too. Smiley

I had something similar happen to me at my church about 10 years ago. I got my first car (truck) and I saved up all my money that I made working at BEST BUY  laugh and put like a $1500.00 Kicker comp system in. 2 15's and a 750 watt amp with a Pioneer head unit. 2 months after I installed it, it was stolen out of my truck during Sunday morning service. My church is in a really nice neighboorhood to and the police station is across the street from the church parking lot. Go figure..  hurt But I sure didn't let this discorage me from putting systems in each of my next cars...I just pay for extra insurance coverage now (-: You should check out taking a renter/home policy out for your gear. I've got $25,000 in coverage for my stuff (turntables, puters, mixer, speakers, etc)  and it only costs like $150.00 a year...sorry for your loss though. Just be thankful you don't live near Detroit. My car has been broken into 4 times in 3 years and stolen once! (but I got it back)
