haha, there has to be family disfunction if your immediate's report you to the police.

IF i lashed out in anger at my mom or sisters the last thing they would do is call the police or report it.

Maybe they are like the girl's family from Million Dollar Baby.

You know... not to be a damper on your joke, but if it is a real case of domestic violence, this ain't funny. Period. Statistically, millions of women (specifically) are involved in violent and/or verbally abusive relationships. They are the hardest to take to trial and it's like an addiction and many of the women never get out of them or go from one abuser to the next.

IF this is anything more than they had a one time verbal fight and it was the people in the next room who called the cops out of a misunderstanding (as some have reported), then it needs to be treated as a very serious matter.

I really didn't post this for mocking. Ok... the instant 1 second mock, but beyond that, it's a very serious issue.

You're right Dave. But it's Hollywood... so it's hard to know. You could slap someone because you boiled over and "Z000MMMGGGG!!!! HE SLAPPED ME! I'M SUEING HIS {mmm...tasty}!".
Or you could also have a very real case of abuse. Which is tragic.

Growing up in New Zealand we lived in a community with a high population of Maori's (native New Zealanders). Making a large generalization, these people suffer from similar issues as First Nations people in North America. Violence, alcoholism, gang troubles, etc. We had a knock on the door in the middle of the night, and it was our neighbour begging to be let in and call the cops. Her husband was abusive (we'd heard shouts and threats made by him before) and she said he'd fallen asleep drunk and she had run. So we did, called the cops, they took him away, and he ended up doing time. That would have been the end of the story, and who knows what happened. Someone in her position could have got into another similar relationship. It happens.
But, we got a random letter like 6 years later, after we had moved to Canada (I don't even know how she got our address), telling us she'd moved on in life, had gone to Uni, got a degree, all sorts of cool stuff. It was really quite amazing, given the statistics.

Yeah, my wife actually came out of an abusive home. In some ways, it still is. She's pretty much the normal one too.
