I would say that, as good as Batman begins was, this movie is at least [literally] twice as good.
I really don't think it is a good movie for kids to watch
. This movie is incredible. Joker has the feel of a real bad guy, not a bad guy from a comic. If Heath Leger were still alive I have no doubt that he would become the most successful actor in the world
.
I don't like superhero movies in general, but these last two batman movies are worthy exceptions.

But imagine the story you could tell your kid.

Ok, so now that the film has had some time to set in a little bit... here are my thoughts:
1] Heath Leger deserves an oscar for his performance.
The reason he deserves an oscar HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE FACT THAT HE IS NOW DEAD. I have no "oscar sympathy" for him because he died. He died, and that was sad, but it has NO influence at all on how i judge his acting in this film. I honestly, believe without a doubt that he stole the show with his portrayal of the joker. He played the joker SO WELL.... that i honestly don't see ANY actor ever topping it. the joker in this movie is disgustingly evil. he did the best job i have ever seen anyone portraying that. job well done!!!!
2] Action, storyline, gadgets, and effects were top notch.
Great story. great characters. awesome explosions, cool chases. make-up artists made two-face and the joker look AWESOMEly sick. batman gadgets were of course, completely rad.
3] The entire film was disturbingly dark.
Once again (as other's have said) this is not a movie for children. Parts of it were very twisted. It would give children nightmares. This is the way batman SHOULD be done. I am so happy that they made it this dark.

As far as I'm concerned the clown emoticon from here on out only refers to how awesome of a job Heath Ledger did with the joker
I want to watch it again, really bad.

WOW!
Just amazing! Better than Iron Man (and I really liked Iron Man a lot.)
THE perfect Batman movie without a doubt.
Yeah, not for kids.
Will have to see it again!

Guess what?
oh yeah, but it's not as exciting the second time. The darkness of the movie annoyed me more when I saw it last night. There really is nothing like watching a good movie for the first time.
