just wanted to say that I am safe in california.  I am in fresno recouping at my brother and sister-in-law's house.

I am still very very confused about where to go with my life.  I probably am going to get some counseling from a pastor in my brother's church.

I would still covet your prayers.  I do not at all know what the future holds.  I currently have no money and may have obviously lost my job.  I dunno.

I think things will settle out next week and become much much more clear.  I just have to remain positive and trust in God.  He is the only one who can truely help me right now.  I must depend on HIM

I know things wicked suck right now, but I admire you for your faith in the light at the end of the tunnel. Also, I think you temporary move, drastic as it may seem, was very wise and courageous. You knew what you needed to keep your sanity, and you just went and did it. Just take it one day at a time kid. hug

First let me just say how jealous of you I am. I miss California with my whole heart.

Next, I am praying that you find direction and God's will for your life. I know what it's like to feel like you have no clue what you should be doing. Granted I have never gone through what you are, but I have been in a very helpless situation and had to fully rely on God to pull me through.  hug

Doug...I'm not one to go ranting on some spiritual mumbo jumbo rant...but I just want to tell you that I admire your faith....everything may be stripped away but you are still hanging on (more than I would probably do in your shoes).

I believe you will do...not actually I think you are doing incredible things for God that others see.  There is a call/pull...whatever you want to call it on you.  I saw it last year at Cstone.

Rest my friend...let us know how we can help.

Praying for you, Doug. Take care of yourself. I think talking with a pastor could be a good idea. Good spiritual counsel never hurts.

Two people drift in a lifeboat. One says, "I see an island. Our best chance is to go ashore, build a shelter, and await rescue." The others says, "No, we must go farther out to sea and hope to find the shipping lanes." Unable to agree, the two fight, the lifeboat capsizes, and they drown.

This too shall pass.  I know it doesn't seem like it while you're going through it, but that's one promise I can make to you.

It'll get better, maybe not in a way that you'd imagine, but it will.  You'll look back and be happy how far you had come.  Really.

Just keep a positive attitude and do what you can that brings joy to you.  Try not to think about what bothers you so much.  I know it's hard, but that's a way to keep sanity too.

Take care, and blessings on you.

Hi.
I usually hear what is happening on the boards, and rarely feel like my input will significantly add to what is happening.  I, however, want to let you know what an important role you play in our family's life.  Your picture has hung on our refrigerator along with only a handful of other pictures of our dear friends.  We pray for you regularly.  Our daughter sometimes points to your picture and asks us who you are.  We told her this week we needed to pray for you, and she knew who we were praying for.  Jeremy misses your calls.  This is not to lay blame, but just to let you know how important you are to our whole family.  I don't do much during the week other than drive my children around and change poopy diapers, but I have been praying for you the whole week as you come to mind when I am driving around.  I was worried when we didn't know exactly where you were.

I also wanted to share that about ten years ago before Jeremy and I were together, I thought I should take off and I did.  I got a one way ticket to Scotland and 1000 dollars, and left a message on my dad's machine on Sunday morning that I was in the airport and about to take off in the plane.  This was the first time he had ever heard I was going.  I sold all of my furniture and things because it seemed like a good idea at the time.  I am not saying what you did is wrong, just that we've all done things.  I don't know about the other stuff, but just wanted to say that don't go further down beating yourself up over what you've done now.  I ended up working illegally for cash in an Indian restaurant run by Pakistanis who refused to speak English to me.  I honestly didn't know how I would ever make it home.  Now I am just babbling.

God is good.  I've had some really crappy times, including a lot of this last year.  You are a dear person to us, and Jeremy misses you.  I, even though we don't know each other well, miss hearing what you have been doing from your regular calls.  We have been looking forward to seeing you at Cornerstone for a long time now.  Jeremy specifically said he could not wait to hang out with you.  I hope that you still come.

I'm glad to hear that you made it to California safe and sound. I can only imagine what it is that you're going through right now.... however, Father God recently today has placed in my heart to pray for you, and I pray the Peace over you, that surpasses all understanding.  hug You, and Aric are at the top of my prayer list, and my family is praying for you guys as well. I don't know of anything else I could do for you guys at the moment, except to just pray... "For I know whom, I have believed, and am persuaded, that he is able, to keep that, which I commited, unto him against that day" and also "For his eye is on the Sparrow, and I know he watches over you".

Keep us posted, and I also pray that Father God will give you direction, guidance, and blessings.  Smiley
