Promo DVD Intro

so i just finished the intro to the promo DVD im working on for fundraising. its pretty crazy. wanted to give you guys a sneakpeek.
The strobe is flashing and everyone is in stop motion. The lights spin back and forth, changing color and lighting up the dark and crowded dancefloor. Lasers cut through the smoke overhead as the people raise their hands dancing. The smell of sweat and alcohol is overwhelming and your heart is pounding hard and fast. The music is deafening and you can feel the base hit you in the chest over and over. You look over and see the DJ. He has his headphones on, listening intently to the next track and your heart leaps in expectation. What floorfiller is he going to play next? Suddenly, he rips his headphones off and you see him raise his hands and yell. The dancefloor goes crazy, jumping and screaming.
This is the scene at just one of the 62 dance clubs in the UK's dance club capital, Brighton. This is the scene of the world's unknown mission field.
im not too sure about the last sentence. but i really like the rest. what do you guys think?

Is "base" the UK spelling for "bass"?

Two people drift in a lifeboat. One says, "I see an island. Our best chance is to go ashore, build a shelter, and await rescue." The others says, "No, we must go farther out to sea and hope to find the shipping lanes." Unable to agree, the two fight, the lifeboat capsizes, and they drown.
