weapons of peace

« on: December 06, 2007, 11:45:51 PM »

Some of you know I used to produce electronic music pretty regularly.  The past two years I've been working mostly on an electro-folk project with my friend.  I have recently began the solo creative process once more.  I have strong leanings towards two very different styles of music and I'm not sure which I find more pleasing or satisfactory.

Tonight I created www.myspace.com/noahdesmit which currently has two new tracks that differ in those two styles.  I'm quite certain which song you guys will enjoy more, but I would highly appreciate feedback on which I seem to pull off better.  Basically, which sounds more natural and like... myself.  Does that make sense?

Also, feel free to become my myspace friend.

Cheers.

I like em both. You should be one of those diverse artists who can have the freedom to release a dance track and a rock song on the same album.

I don't think I want to do that.  The closest I can think of to something like this would be the varying vibes in Kid A, and I think my styles vary far more than the styles in that album.

Amazing grace, how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me.

Thanks Joel Smiley

So there was some background noise and p-pops in the vocal tracks, but I cleaned those up and the new version should be updated by now.

Great TRACKS, man.
Personally, I don't see the two tracks as clashing, or differing in style.
It's YOUR style.

I could see both of those on the same album, really.
Of course, Take cover is more electronic, and Last Words is acoustic, yet I could hear a similarity in style.

A Very Clean Bleed is kind of a middle ground between the other two.

Great Job.
