i'm fine. i am in a hospital bed typing from my cell phone. i spoke with dave richards who has all the updates as best as he could understand my fat tongue. he said he would post here soon. if not then i will tomorrow. good night.

day 3 in the hospital...

really board.  no internet access. typing from my cell phone. been watching a lot of dvds on my laptop.

still have two drains in my neck. one might come out today. the other may come out tomorrow. it makes getting around quite difficult because the tubes literally hang from my neck.

so far, side effects from the surgery seem to be some  loss of feeling in my right ear, but that seems to be restoring itself. i am so finding it difficult to move my tongue to swallow and form words. i am told that should improve within a couple weeks. i hope so. it is very frustrating just trying to do something as simple as move food around in your mouth.

i may be going home tomorrow. i will let you all know. thank you for all your prayers.

Day Five

Still in the hospital with a tube hangin out my neck. More than likely will go home tomorrow IF this drain will stop.

My pain is growing to an unbearable level at times. I will be trying a new pain medication tonight. I REALLY hope it works. Currently, it hurts too much to have a conversation. (That's why I didn't call you back.)

On another, very sad note, I got a call tonight that my grandma in Oklahoma my not make it through the night. She has been battling cancer for years and it seems she may be letting go tonight. We thought she was gonna pass a few months back, but she pulled through that time. To be honest, I'm OK with this. The timing sucks because I didn't get to go to my grandpa's funeral a couple years ago and now I won't be able to go to hers. That's what really bothers me about this.

There will be more tomorrow.

day six...

this sucks. i still can't go home. the drain tube is still putting too much out. i am constantly uncomfortable in this bed, it hurts to lie down, and i will have to have a new IV put in today. i want to scream so loud and escape this place. i miss my life, my job, my clothes, etc.

please pray. i need to get out of here. i feel more like a prisoner than a patient.
