Actually, they could possibly make 6 Volts. I don't believe you necessarily add the sum of all the voltages of each component battery to get the total output.  Wink

Ok, it can be done, but still goes back to why even bother when you can do it with less batteries.  From what I and you saw, 6V lantern batteries use 4 longer version of D batteries that produce 1.5V.   Only way to achieve 6V from 32 AA's is do a series-parallel wiring.   You take 8 AA's and wire them together in parallel.  This combines their storage power but produces the same 1.5V output voltage of a AA.  Then making 4 groups of this setup, you then wire all 4 groups in series, thus making a 6V output cause in series you add the voltages.

So it can be done, but its not economical, and from what I've seen in the battery and in the video, its a flop not enough wiring and probably space.

Daniel, you're such a nerd  Tongue hug

can't help it I went to school for it.

OK...I opened up a Rayovac 6V-HD battery and found......

4 smaller batteries resembling a D-cell battery only longer, obviously, to fit in the 6V housing.

So...maybe an alkaline 6V contains the AAs? I doubt it. Probably just the one kind that happened to have that. Seems uneconomical to me, from a manufacturing stand point.

Besides...how crappy would those AA batteries be!?  laugh
Yeah great point about how crapy the batteries would be. Cool

Well... who cares? If they cost half as much... it would still be worth it if they lasted 3/4 as long.

Not to me. I pay more for batteries that last longer so I don't have to replace them as often. Especially in equipment your using for gigs! Or for my RC planes!
