Well, maybe you should talk to your state officials and ask why they waited so long to put water restrictions on their residents. We've been in the same situation (although a bit better because we have the Tenneessee River to get water from) but we've had watering restrictions/bans since April.

But also, i hope you guys don't run out of water.

First, I've been under water restrictions for 2 years now if not more.
Second, yeah... those are county restrictions. MOST of the counties here did put their ppl under those EARLY this summer if not a year or two before.
Third, Yeah... I wonder why the STATE didn't put us under restrictions before now too.
Fourth, are your restrictions set by the state or your county?

Every STATE involved has been irresponsible. The counties may not have been.

Oh well... at least Coke and Stone Mnt. decided (after public outrage) to ditch the Snow Mountain idea. They were going to produce 200 tons of snow every day in ATLANTA. HELLOOOOOOO?!?!?!

I was just there on Monday and Tuesday playing some shows and it was pretty rainy the whole time.  Hopefully it helped.  A little.    hug

well... first... the southern part of GA isn't all that bad off. Second... what huge water mass??? You mean the Florida coast? I dunno. Apparently, they're incapable of using that water despite the fact it has them surrounded on three sides. Funny huh?

GA does purify some water from the Atlantic though. There just isn't a good way to ship it up stream. North GA isn't just north... it's higher up in elevation.

Well, regardless of inter-state discrepancies, I hope you guys come across some water soon.

But not too much, because that can be as bad as not enough.

yeah... I just hate the arguments that keep us from keeping our water. I mean... dead shellfish, 800,000 homes w/o power and jobs lost vs 5,000,000 people dead. Seriously.

I was just wondering whatever happened to your water supply?  Are you out of water?  Or did you solve your water dilema?

FL, GA, and AL are still fighting it. My county isn't allowing any outdoor watering. The main lake has risen a good bit, but we're still down over 10 ft from where we should be. It's still a serious issue, but we made it more than 3 months now.

when are they going to realise that you can build water purification systems on the back of existing powerstations on the coast. use the waste heat. as well as sell salt afterwards. yeah there is the problem of shipping it. but you could build one resevior neer the station and pump it at night when there is less electricity being used. kinda what they do with small hydro electrice plants. use excess of power at low use times to pump the water up high. then when they need it then can release it.

it is all about intergrated design.

not just oh we need a powerstation. so they just build that. why not heat water for the near by city or heat it.

grr

rant over, all be it not that major a one. lol

Move to Finland Wink

Finland has over 180,000 lakes, in a country roughly the size of England.

Just a reminder... how far above sea level is Finland?
