What about Kraftwerk, Michael Jackson, Electric Avenue (eddy Grant), Cameo, Prince, Sheila E, Pump up the Jam (haha), Afrika Bambaata, lots of them, Moby, and Richie hawtin might even have some stuff back then off direct drive and other labels, ESP, Devo.

Something quick there, don't know what you are looking for...Huh

I can't believe no one has mentioned Echoing Green? Smiley Depending on the remix/song, they've definately done the whole new wave sound. They might work.

If you go to http://www.adifferentdrum.com most of those groups are 80's sounding. A lot of them even have some of their songs up for free download on Amazon.

The Echoing Green has done a few covers of 80's hits like Safety Dance

OK, i was just doing research for a new retro night i'm doing. here's the tracks you need that are synth based, but genuine 80s

cabaret voltaire-sensoria
george kranz -din da da
section 25-looking from a hilltop
secession-touch

and for the ORIGINAL electroclash sound:
visage -fade to gray

hope that helps a little

"Strict Machine" by Goldfrapp is a very 80's sounding tune. Smiley

The has been a test of the emergency system. If this were an actual emergency, I would have pushed you out of the way and ran out screaming "We're all gonna die!!!".

Grayhound Records (San Francisco) has quite a few electro-house tracks which could fall into the '80's genre.

I still get goosebumps when I hear a tr-909 and tb-303 together.  Long live acid house!
