"the perfect song" game.

name a song that you think is "perfect": you couldn't think of a way to improve the song if you tried. there's not a note out of place & if one was, it would make the song worse.
one of mine:
david bowie-sound & vision

The imperfections of Bowie's vocals actually are what MAKE his songs so human and so dynamic in my opinion. Good choice!
Mine would be Coldplay - Fix You. Same reasons really....I've heard remixes where they add a lot of great things and make the song uniquely cool...but there's no topping the effectiveness of the simplicity in the original. I could think of a hundred others...but this one is playing in my radio right now and I have to admit I'm in love with this track.

for an oldy like me I would have to say:
Replacements-I'll be you
Psychadelic Furs- Ghost in you
Catherine Wheel-Black Metallic
even a little imperfection at the right time is perfect

I'll still say:
Halah -- Mazzy Star --> Don't know why, could listen to it for hours
In My Place -- Coldplay
X2 on Fix You -- LOVE that song!!!!
All I Want -- Toad the Wet Sprocket
Dark Side of the Moon album -- Pink Floyd
Chrome -- VNV Nation (don't know why; also think it'd still be relevant 100 years from now)
There are many, many others, but can't think of them all.

Andy Hunter - Amazing
Audio Adrenaline - Hands and Feet
Avalon - Can't Live A Day (Tiesto Remix)
BarlowGirl - Never Alone
Blindside - Pitiful
Casting Crowns - Set Me Free
Charlie Hall - Sending
Chris Tomlin - Enough
David Crowder Band - song undecided yet.
dc Talk - Jesus Freak
Delirium - Silence
Delirious - Investigate and My Glorious
Disciple - Falling Over
Evol Intent - The Rapture (feat. Ewun)
Jeremy Camp - My Desire
JOC - Mercury (Arizona Remix)
Kutless - Tonight
Kleer - True Lies (VIP Remix)
Linkin Park - In The End
Matt Redman - Facedown
Several of Petra songs
Pillar - several off WDWGFH album
Rank 1 - Airwave
Third Day - Consuming Fire
Thousand Foot Krutch - can't decide, some off Phenomenon and Flame in All of Us
these are just selections from my favorite artists/bands. Usually if i can listen all the way through and when I listen to an album and have to hear this song, I consider it a well made song then.

I have divided my PERFECT songs into two separate top ten lists (one for electronic, and one for non-electronic music).
They are actually in order of greatness, number 1 being the most perfect of them all.
All Time Non-Electronic Music Top Ten:
01] Thursday - Paris In Flames
02] Bloc Party - Always New Depths
03] Sigur Rós - Popplagið
04] Minus the Bear - Drilling
05] Underoath - A Moment Suspended In Time
06] Coheed and Cambria - The Light & The Glass
07] At The Drive-In - One Armed Scissor
08] Copeland - California
09] Coldplay - Fix You
10] Saosin - 3rd Measurement In C
All Time Electronic Music Top Ten:
01] Sasha - Baja
02] Sasha - Xpander
03] Amoeba Assassin - Piledriver (Grayed out Summer Mix)
04] Jan Johnston - Flesh (DJ Tiesto's Remix)
05] Bjork - Our Hands (Grayarea Remix)
06] Whiteroom - Whiteroom
07] Talisman and Hudson - Leaving Planet Earth
08] Way Out West - Mindcircus (Gabriel and Dresden Remix)
09] DJ Tiesto - Nyana
10] Synergy - Hello Strings
yeah. those are my top ten favorite PERFECT songs from each side.
