keep this in mind when standing up for The Word......You're standing up for your interpretation of The Word...Or rather, what it means to you. If you and I were to sit down and have a conversation, we'd probably agree more than we'd disagree on biblical interpretations, but those disagreements can cause HUGE rifts if not handled properly.
That's the funny thing about humanity; we tend to focus more on our differences than our similarities. I guess it's all part of being unique as individuals.
The tongue is SOOOOOOOO hard to control. I know mine has gotten me into more trouble over the course of my life than anything else. One thing I had to come to grips with when I decided to make a career out of music is the fact that I'm ALWAYS in the public eye. Therefore, everything I do or say is put out for public scrutiny. If I do something stupid, it can cost me a booking or sales or whatever. In all honesty, becoming a working musician is probably the best thing I ever did, because it makes me reign in my Irish/Welsh temper...LOL!
We're all guilty of saying things we shouldn't though...After all, I am the guy that did call someone a "flipping loon" on a thread here one time. Did I do it? Yep. Am I proud of it? Absolutely not! That just falls into the good ol "nobody's perfect
except for oneel
so get it right next time" category.

thats why it seems Christianity is the most "sectioned" or "divided" world religion. People come up with their own interpretation and start a new denomination. At least it seems like this here in the States, other parts of the world probably more just Christianity and people living the walk. Thats why when I look for a church, just find the one thats the most accurate on their beliefs to what the Bible teaches.

There is a difference between getting kicked out and taking a break.
There was ZERO love in what you said. The last time I checked beating someone with the truth really doesn't accomplish much.
And I don't care what was said, if you are the Christian you claim to be, LOVE is what wins. It is what is heard. It is how souls are won.
You are about to be married my friend...may LOVE be what reigns in all your life.
i agree love should reign... but when is it time to fight Cindy? really? when is enough enough. I love TASTYFRESH! i dont want this community to become "WORLD VIEW FRIENDLY" i want it to be Christ-centered like it says in the header.
I may be a new to this site, but even being new I can see the value of it. If it starts to become ultra tolerant morally relative to the point where someone cannot post scripture and take a stand on biblical truth than all that value is gone. I agree with DJ Rodimus (sorry don't know your real name) and at the same time wisdom in the application of truth is needed. Truth should be applied with love and understanding but it should never be compromised so that others feel more comfortable with it. If it was, the truth would become a lie, which is what the enemy tries to do with what God has already done and stated. The scripture even says that the Lord
Loveth
whom He correcteth. Jesus was the truth and He offended many people that didn't want to accept what He was standing for (and stands for now, ever notice how it is OK in our culture to talk about God all day long, but the minute someone says the name Jesus uh oh). And at the same time He delivered the truth perfectly. To those who loved stories He told parables, to those who wanted to know what the stories meant He explained them, to the pharisees who knew the word He told them their error outright. Proverbs 26:4-5, reveals a little about the application of truth. We have to be wise to know what to say and when to say it. I pray that God help us all with that one, if you haven't guessed I tend to lean on the zealous side. Though it is good to be zealous in a good thing (the only thing good being God).

See that's the catch though...Denominations are a necessary evil. Regardless of if we realize it or not, we create denominations because of the desire to be around others who believe the same way we do. Even though I could walk into a Church of God church and hear the same message I would in a Methodist church, I wouldn't do it because I don't believe in speaking in tongues or Pentacostal practices in general. (not saying there's anything wrong with it, just not my juju.) it's just like being Methodist, I'm not completely comfortable in most traditional Southern Baptist churches because I don't agree with obstaining from the sale of and use of alcoholic products (it's there in the Southern Baptist covenant...check it, yo.)
That's been the sticking point of Christianity for all these years...we have an intent deisre to associate with those who think like us. example: Martin Luther starts the Lutheran faith....because he disagrees with Roman Catholicism...Calvin disagrees with Luther and starts the Calvinists...Ulrich Zwingli disagrees with all fo them and starts the Reformed church....meanwhile, Henry VIII tells them all to bugger off and starts the Anglican Church, who then has a disagreement with the Wesleyans, who start the Methodist church, and the Presbyterians, who are more closely aligned with the Calvinists....and thus the circle continues.
No matter what church you go to, you go there because the people believe like you. Rather, they preach the Word of God as you see it...
And that's why it's important that we don't get into discussions as such on Tastyfresh...

Well Kairsie...To directly tie it in with my earlier post....
The Amish had a disagreement with the Mennonites, who were not only an offshoot of the Calvinists, but an ethnic group in their own rite. Jacob Amman told the Swiss Mennonites to cram it because the Amish were more in line with Anabaptists than Calvinists. The Mennonites informed him that he could take his posse and get lost, and that's exactly what they did!
Meanwhile, the Puritians are all like "Jeepers! Let's move to the new world" and the Amish are like "Word! That sounds like a plan." The Mennonites are all "Hey you're not gonna Bogart that new world!" so they decided to head over too.
All this time, the Anglican church is all "Fine! Just leave us alone!".....And they did!

noah why don't you leave? really?
you obviously don't live a Chrisitan life. you try to take God's word...pervert it and use it for your pro-homosexual, liberal adgenda. you CURSE on a Christian forum!!!!!.... you're so ignorant in your logic...you posted that letter to dr. laura... have you ever read the new testiment? where paul lists a TON of old testimant laws we are now free from?
TRY it before posting and looking stupid. HOMOSEXUALITY IS A SIN in both OLD AND NEW.
http://www.contenderministries.org/articles/christianliving/homosexuality.php
its ok to disagree with someones point of view but if you question the Bible...?!?!?!? WHY ARE YOU HERE? to disrupt? to antoginize new / strugling belivers? I PRAY FOR YOU. I hope the Lord reaches you really I do...you entitled to believe whatever you want to...just don't come into a Chrisitan (that means Christ-centered) music forum and pollute
the conversation with your cursing and anti-Biblical talk.
all of your comments are ANTI-CHRISTIAN / LIBERAL / HIPPIE ...CRAP. if I was a mod you'd be gone.
While Noah has cursed on Tasty, he is not a homosexual, and your comments are WAAAAY off base.
I'm not arguing that all his actions on Tasty are correct,
but I am letting you know you shouldn't be posting things that aren't true.
He is as much a Christian as you are.

I will not even get involved in debates, esp. religious ones. Chances are, most of you will disagree with me, and I would disagree with most of you, if you really wanted to split hairs. I'd rather not. That's silly and divisive. What does that accomplish in the long run? Proving you're "right"? Who's right? I know I'm not, but that's my problem, no one else's. So, instead, I'll focus on fixing what's wrong with me, and leave everyone else to figure it out themselves.
Well, that is, except for healthy eating... THEN, I'll crack the whip.
