Yeah, it was Samuel Jackson.

He was upset about that as he's a fan of the original white Fury.

I told him the Ultimate Fury is the only Fury, and Sam is perfect for the part!

I told him if he wants his white Nick Fury, there is always the David Hasselhoff version:

Keep in mind that each respective version of the character is not solely defined by how the colorist colors him.

I'm sure your friend has other reasons for liking the classic Fury, other than him being white. :/

Ok, he did mention him being stubbly too, an unshaven, white fury.

I don't think it's a racial thing so much.  He would also be upset with a blue Hulk, not because he's racist against blue people, but because traditionally the Hulk is green.

In the same way he would be upset if the Black Panther was white, not because he has a problem with caucasians,  but because the Panther is traditionally an African.

The plan is to have movies for Thor and Cap first.
