It's 32 minutes beyond time for me to connect to the Shoutcast server and do my Saturday night show, BLEND. I have been trying to connect, but I can't because someone is already streaming on the station. Even worse, I can't shut thier stream off because I can't remember the Shoutcast page's admin information to cut it off. Even even worse, I can't get in touch with whomever is on the stream because the only two I imagine it could be are not online.

This leads me to think I need to start a second Cast The Fire stream. Something like CTF Ch1 and CTF Ch2.

CTF Ch1 would be prerecorded stuff 24 hours a day. It would be a collection of various mixsets, recorded shows from Ch2's live stream, and anybody's podcast who would like to have it in rotation. Basically a Winamp playlist loaded and repeating.

CTF Ch2 would be only active when we are doing a live show, one where we would get in the chat room and on Skype and interact with the listeners. The problem with that is I need to get this extra tower I have had for years working. It's a very small hard drive, only 2G, but it's more than enough to set up a Shoutcast server that would only be active when we do a live stream.

If I did this, it would happen within the week.

Well anyway, there won't be a BLEND tonight. I'm off to eat dinner and go to the gym.

no, it is still very legal. they were trying to make it extremely expensive for internet radio that profited from advertising. CTF has no advertisements, so whatever they pass in regards to profits, it has no affect on us just yet. I got that from someone who wrks on this type of work every day. Until they tell me different, CTF goes strong.
