i wanted to go ahead and throw my support letter out there. please read the letter, pray and see if God would like you to go ahead and support me finacially. i know you guys have had me in your prayers, and i appriciate it so much.

God has done some amazing things in my life over the last 5 months. I was challenged so much in my YWAM DTS, both through the lectures and through the outreach in Brighton. When I got back to Holmsted Manor, we had a general debrief as well as teachings concerning going home. During one of the lectures, I was given an assignment we were encourage to come up with the “Golden Nugget” to concisely describe what God had doe in our lives during the DTS I was reminded of a word God had given me the last service we had at St. Luke’s church in Brighton. We were taking Communion and I felt Jesus say to me, “I drank from the cup that our Father put before me so that you can drink from the cup He is putting before you.” It comes from John 18:11 and really sums up all the work that God did in me over the last few months. During lectures, God really focused on what Christ’s sacrifice meant. His sacrifice made me a Son of God. It took away the veil separating me from God. Jesus would not let anything or anyone stop Him from doing what God had planned for Him and I believe that this is the example we should be following when it comes to what God is asking us to do. We should not let anything stop us from doing what we know God is asking us to do.

I have been back in the States for a few weeks and I want to let you know about what God is asking me to do right now. Before I left for outreach, the base director at YWAM Brighton, Joel, invited me to come on staff in Brighton to help lead the next DTS there as well as pioneer club ministries in Brighton. After two months of prayer and seeking God’s will in this, I decided that God wants me in Brighton for the next 2 years in that capacity. I accepted Joel’s invitation and now I am asking you to partner with me in what and where God is calling me.

Before I give you the details of the needs, I want to tell you a bit about what God is doing at Brighton and what I feel God is asking us to do there. First is participating in leadership training beginning in September. Second is staffing a DTS that is scheduled to begin in January 2008.  The DTS is slightly different than the typically DTS; it is a 10 months where only 1 week per month is spent in lectures. The other 3 weeks are spent doing outreaches in the city and there is a 6-week outreach to a 3rd world country as well. My responsibility in this school will be to disciple and challenge the students in their walk with Christ as well as lead some of the outreaches. Third are club ministries. We will be pioneering club ministries in Brighton, which is the club capitol of England. There are approximately 60 clubs in Brighton and if every one of them can hold 150 people per night (and most can hold more) that means that there are about 9000 clubbers on any single night. Our approach to this is 2 fold, targeting both the clubbers and the club staff.  Our plan for club ministries includes maintaining a rotation of Christian DJs to serve in the clubs.  Chaplains will talk with people, see what needs they have, provide water, provide a ride home, pray with individuals, listen to and minister to both clubbers and club staff and establish ministries geared specifically for the club scene.  Chaplains will be a safe haven for clubbers that cannot take care of themselves or provide reliable transportation.  They will also be are resource for local police; a place where the police can bring clubbers for assistance rather than booking them at the local jail. This will provide an avenue for us to tell people about the redemption and the love of Christ.

So how can you partner with me in what God is doing in Brighton? The first is for you to keep me and everything I am involved with in prayer. I cannot properly express just how essential your prayers are for me in accomplishing God’s will for my life. Nothing I do with amount to anything if God’s Spirit is not working in and through me. The second is financial. I have put together a budget of $750 per month for living expenses and a startup sum of $2500. The startup sum will cover the flight to England, all visa expenses, any expenses that I have there to get started and hopefully a flight home for Christmas. The monthly expense covers my rent and all personal expenses. I know this seems high, but the conversion rate is still around $2 per pound.

Financially, you can partner with me in 2 ways, the first is to give a 1-time donation to get me started and the next is to make a commitment to support me monthly for 1 or 2 year periods. Neither donation has to be large, as long as it is what God would have you give. If 5 people commit to $50 per month, it would be  a third of my monthly expenses would be covered.  If another 12 commit to $25 per month, two thirds of my monthly expenses will be covered. Please seek God and see if He wants you to partner with me in what He is calling me to do in Brighton for the next season of my life. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to give me an email at ywamawil at g mail.com.

thanks again and remember that even a small amount is helpful. i went into sunday school the other day and we issued a challenge for the regulars to give 10 bucks each month, which is 1 movie or 2 cups of starbucks. if even half do it, that is like 70-90 bucks. if alot of people give alittle, its huge. let me know if you have any questions

If someone ever charged you with being a Christian, would there be enough evidence to convict you?
