In a few days, I start my new job that I posted about in another thread. Great, right? Well I am finding myself with a little "buyers remorse", meaning I am now wishing I had not accepted the job offer and not put in my two week's notice at the TV station. I am sure this is just me neing nervous. The last time I went to a new job, I ultimately was fired because I wasn't as good as I thought I could have been. The new job isn't any tough physical labor like being a cable installer, but this is still requiring me to learn a new trade. As some of you may know, I will be in a technical support call center for national companies such as eMachines, Dell, etc. I will be going through 5 weeks of training, so everything should be fine, but I am still stressing a little bit right now.

To make matters worse, I am without health insurance until my first paycheck and I don't even know what their insurance is like.  Crystal has prescriptions that need to be filled, I have doctors visits I need to keep up with and right now, I have no clue if we will be able to do those immediately after we are covered. Most health insurance has a pre-existing condition clause that prevents you from seeing your doctor or filling prescriptions for a few months. I hope and pray this isn't the case. It's the stupidest thing and you would think that if you have a serious pre-existing condition, they would cover that immediately. Backwards thinking of these so-called health care providers.

stressing....stressing....

Going from the known to the unknown can definitely be a freaky thing. Praying for ya, Chris!

Two people drift in a lifeboat. One says, "I see an island. Our best chance is to go ashore, build a shelter, and await rescue." The others says, "No, we must go farther out to sea and hope to find the shipping lanes." Unable to agree, the two fight, the lifeboat capsizes, and they drown.

hey man, glad to hear you've found some new work in the technical field. getting that position could be the doorway to a new career. I know first hand. I started working dial-up tech support, full time when I was 17 and by the time I was 20 I was supervisor for a large Comcast HSI callcenter. I've done tech support for almost 10 years working for companies like AT&T, Roadrunner, Comcast, and a few local ISPs. The only advice I can give you is don't let the customers get to you. You have to turn into a stonewall when someone starts verbally attacking you but still stay professional. This is a a little tricky at first but once you get the hang of it you'll be ok. If you need any technical help along the ling feel free to bother me.  Cool

my personal favorite caller was the one older lady that called between 1am - 4 am every morning when i was supervising midnights. she called because she kept losing money at her online poker games and wanted us to credit her! she couldnt understand that we weren't taking her money and that she was racking up real credit card debt. last time i talked to her she was 30K in the hole! lol and judging by where she lived her house itself probably wasnt even 30k in value. how she paid for $42.95 a month for high-speed internet is beyond me! lol
