I listened to the stuff on their myspace page and I really do not like it... when it hits regular rotation I'll probably just turn off the radio for a couple months... though there's been worse... nobody's been as awful as 7lock yet...

Bought it. I'd like to add that there's sort of a Killers and White Stripes feel to it as well. Love it so far 'cept for that askin' for it track for some obvious reasons when you hear the lyrics.

On a side note, I thought I was gonna like The Killers based on the two songs I heard from them. I downloaded all their stuff in my Napster account and wow...I really really don't like them at all. The same goes for The Bravery. Just mindless nonsense.

Ok... I just gained even more respect for this band. Rumors abound.
Seems T&N won't say who is actually in the band. The rumor is that it's actually like Cush was with some secret membership roster. Names that are floating around as members include: Allan Aguirre (prob lead vocals), several of the Prayer Chain guys, and possible the Martin brothers (Ronnie given the minimal synth work and Jason for additional vocals.)
Interestingly... T&N gives following description on their site:
Quote
From the depths of Los Angeles lurks an unstoppable combination of rock and sass. Influenced by the rock pack leaders of '75-'85 Neon Horse has studied, and designed a sound that morphs timeless energy with brilliant modern relevance. Singer Norman Horse backed by his explosive band Neon Horse is armed with a self-titled arsenal of hit songs that cannot be corralled.
The T&N store lists it as:
Quote
From the wreckage of roughly 20 nameless and faceless Los Angeles bands, Neon Horse arose as a collective of session musicians, home studio producers, waiters, postal workers, and bartenders who found a commonality among themselves as background players in the big picture of the L.A. rock scene. Citing influences broad in range - from the rock of AC/DC, Oingo Boingo, and even the Stooges, to the sass of Depeche Mode, Bauhaus, and the Eurythmics, Neon Horse has studied, and designed a sound that morphs timeless energy with brilliant modern relevance. Singer Norman Horse backed by his explosive band is armed with a self-titled arsenal of hit songs that cannot be corralled.
Anyway... if rumors are true... this is a rare moment in Xian music and the type that I REALLY wish we'd see more of. It's soooo like the early 90's when the Christian Alt Rock scene was REALLY starting to take off and everybody was on everybody's albums.

There is also a rumor that the lead singer of Stavesacre, Mark Salomon, is the lead singer of Neon Horse. But who knows really.

Really??? Well... the guitars and synths defin have a brothers martin influence to them.
Mark Salomon might be a better guess. I never really listened to stavesacre, but I have listened to Scattered Few.

Music video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VTd_M_0mbVQ
Mark Salomon
Clips of the Scattered Few from 2002 in studio
Allan shows up really well at 2:29.
Honestly, I think they BOTH are in it. From the video, the singer is mark salomon. The guy in the jester's hat is Allan. You can't miss the jawline on Allan.
So... the Brother's Martin, Mark Salomon, Allan Aquirre and that's probably the band right there. Nice lineup.

OK... the
teaser vid
leads to another theory. What if there really were 20 ppl behind this band. Most/all of the guys we've mention so far are out of LA right? There are more than 20 dis-banded Christian bands out in that area right?
It might be a larger project. I would expect more diversity though.

another lead from a youtube comment:

I just watched the teaser again. Roger Rose is a Postal Worker during his day job.

Anyway, if that's true... It's the martins & maybe some of mad at the world.

Mark Salomon? Wasn't he the guy rapping as Native Son back in 1992?
linkage:

I see he was one of the DBD guys on XL & DBD's cd.

By the way, XL has released a rap CD finally. It came out in 2005.

Sorry for the off topic discussion.

By the way, I am listening to samples of them again right now. Seriously not impressed still. Also I don't hear ANY Martin Bros style in there. Just a bunch of loud guitars with a singer who sounds like he's trying to be the lead singer from the Killers. I just don't get why this band is causing such a buzz. they really don't stand out as anything special.
