A Strange Yet Cool New Band
«
on:

So we stumbled across the band called
Neon Horse
today. Apparently it is a Tooth and Nail super group. Rarely does a band make me stop and go what the heck...I gotta own this. But this band did.
Check it out...it's weird and strange - yet cool.
It is kinda tech, industrial, grunge rock...but not.

not to mention there's a steve taylor & 80's metal influence on the vocals.

I gave it a listen the other day. Wasn't entirely impressed. There are things about them I like. I'm just not 100% sold on them yet.

"Crazy Daisy" and "Speed Killz" were great! "I Know I Just Don't" isn't bad. An odd mix of Devo, Bauhaus, and metal(?). I think they're top eight friends sum up their sound pretty well.... Listening to "Cuckoo" now. Likin' it. They're energetic and offbeat. I just might be buying a CD soon!

Two people drift in a lifeboat. One says, "I see an island. Our best chance is to go ashore, build a shelter, and await rescue." The others says, "No, we must go farther out to sea and hope to find the shipping lanes." Unable to agree, the two fight, the lifeboat capsizes, and they drown.

Cindy, I have a quesiton...(not a critisism) but... are these guys suppose to be Christian or Secular...cuz I thought that Tooth n Nail was a Christian label. I really dont follow rock anymore so I could be wrong bout that... but I listened to thier songs and read their bio and there was no mention of God or Christ anywhere. Just curious...

They are on Tooth and Nail...that is about all I know.
It is some sort of Tooth and Nail supergroup. Who the members are no one really knows although there is of course rumors.
As to what their personal beliefs are I have no idea since I don't know who they are.
It is just really interesting music.

thats cool, i understand. i actually kinda like thier style...as for the tooth and nail question i think i just found out what i wanted to know...
"
Tooth & Nail Records
A Record Company
Bio:
Tooth & Nail Records, an independent label headquartered in Seattle, Washington, was founded in 1993 as a means to give independent artists a forum to creatively express positivity through music. Over the course of the label's ten year history, Tooth & Nail has been home to bands such as MxPx, Blindside, The Juliana Theory, the OC Supertones, and many others. Today, a new regime of bands are infiltrating the mainstream, including Underoath, Mae, Dead Poetic, Further Seems Forever, Anberlin, mewithoutYou, Emery, and many others."
maybe they were Christian at one time then decided to go mainstream...cuz i see no mention of God anywhere in thier company bio, news, or faq page. I'm pretty sure they were once cuz my younger brother had a band that actually worked with these guys in the past and his band was 100% Christian.

Do they have to mention God in order to be Christian?
Most of the artists on Tooth and Nail's label are Christians. But they don't bash a person over the head with it they show it by living their life.

to be a Christian record label? YES. They have to mention God lol...thats silly.
As for the bands, if Christian you would think that they would at least in some song mention the Lord...I mean...YES.
I know a lot of NON Christians that live much more morally and honestly then a lot of Christians...so living your life good...simply doesnt cut it.
as Christians we have a Biblical responsibility not just to live our lives as Chrisitans but to actually praise God in ALL that we do...including or music, business, and personal lives.

Ok... factually, they are a Christian OWNED record label that markets bands who share the same Christian beliefs as the label owners to both the Christian and Secular market, but in particular... the secular market.
BEC
, their sublabel focuses more on marketing music to the Christian scene.

i think they sound really tight, but honestly, it just sounds like what is/has been popular for the last several years mainstream already ala the killers, the darkness nothing mindblowing, just pop music.
