I'm not sure that beatmatching will go away anytime soon.

Being a professional mobile dj who has done beatmatching and preformatting on cd's for various events that called for audio soundbites and soundeffects cued at a certain time, I am aware of some of the software like FS and even PCDJ Red and PCDJ RED VRM (I've used and still have PCDJ RED VRM), Tricerasoft (Tried it on a free trial download, but wasn't able to fully utilize all the features and was limited to 60-second samples from music in my files, so....*CUE "Flushing Toilet" Sound Effect*

), and even Mixmeister. By the way, in my personal opinion, I think that Mixmeister is HOT!

While most dj's still use the standard two-decks system - regardless of LP's or CD's or MP3's, etc. - this one allows a dj to mix up to 8 - yes I said "8" - songs in a standard crossover effect, or even mixing one song at the same time with another(or even several songs at the same time! Whoa!

). Even with this new technology, it doesn't always find the correct downbeat of a song and may need the manual assistance of the dj that is familiar with the song being mixed.
