There are a lot of decisions you have to make in your life that God or the Bible won't give you a direct, clear cut answer for.   Make sure your motivation/heart is in the right place and make a decision, I think that is a part of our own walk of faith.

Well not sure if this has been brought up before but where do we draw the line on when it comes to the music we play?

Well... I was just at Cstone and kinda played a track with the lyrics "Devil's on the mic so let it flow yo!" I had been debating if it said the Devil or Devlin. Jeremy's sound system cleared that one up. It was a great track and technically... the Devil is often on the mic letting stuff flow. I probably won't play it at a Christian event again, but it's too good of a  track to NOT play out.

Do we stray into the mainstream market for new music ?

Yup. Just be more careful than I am when selecting tracks if you feel the need to be.

Reason for asking is I'm just getting into djing (looking at the numark tt500 series) and have the outmost respect for the the working dj's here to show me the light on the direction I should go.

Well... seriously... the first thing I would do is return your turntables if you can and purchase CD decks that can play CDs or MP3s. Vinyl is just about dead or will be in the next couple of years. TT's will only be useful for systems like Final Scratch and Traktor Scratch where you can use the TT's to manipulate your mp3's like vinyl.

That honestly is the best advice I can give you.

There is a fine line that is often blurred in my sets lately. I play a great deal of secular tracks in my sets, but I sift through them all for lyrical content. I used to play exclusively Christian tracks in my sets, but I had no credibility with the audience I was trying to reach. The sad fact is, there are not enough Christian artists making quality tracks with a current appeal to facilitate a career as a pro-DJ. I'd love to pump out great set after great set by all believers in Christ.

There are a lot more in the secular scene that are believers in Christ than we really know. It's just a matter of doing homework and seeking God to guide you.

Amazing grace, how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me.
I once was lost, but now I’m found.
Was blind, but now I see.
