Any one listend too or know more about the JVC boom Box and the apple hifi/speaker box thing?

Wondering which one to buy 4 portability and good sound. I recently heard the boombox in a   hall and the sound was amazing. The boom box has both a cd player and ipod connector. Wondering which of the two sounds best and is more powerful. Im guesing the boom box.

Any ideas?

Ok Have now ordered the apple hifi speaker!
The apple store said it makes a good monitor too
